Country Christmas

The Didsbury & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to host "Country Christmas". Country Christmas is held on the Friday closest to the first Friday of December each year. In 2011, that date is Friday, December 2.

Take in the great shopping downtown, horse drawn wagon rides, draws for turkeys, visits from Jolly Ol' St. Nick, and lots of special treats for everyone. The town of Didsbury is quite possibly the most beautifully decorated community in Alberta during the Christmas season, so you might just want to bring your camera with you.

Hop on board a wagon and take a hayride around town. Rides leave from Victoria Square Mall and Didsbury Value Drug Mart from 7 - 9 pm (weather permitting). Make sure you stop at all the participating stores and get your name in the draw for a free turkey! Turkeys will be going home to some very lucky winners! Stop in at the Train Station, visit with Santa Claus, and get your picture taken with the "Jolly Old Elf".

Visit Santa Claus at the Train Station and get some Christmas goodies. Best of all during Country Christmas is the great feeling you get while shopping at home. Didsbury retailers have got some of the neatest gift ideas. Jewellery and clothing, chocolates and candy, candles and vases, gift baskets, tools, slippers and mittens, gift certificates, and more! Great specials on gift wrapping, Christmas cards, and all those ornaments and trimming for the tree ... you'll find it all in Didsbury during Country Christmas!

Don't worry if you get a little hungry during Country Christmas; there's always great food. Help those less fortunate with our "Top Up the Trailer" promotion. Just bring a non-perishable food item, toy, or clothing to the front of the Train Station.
